In an interview at the NBA All-Star Media Day, Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie spoke out on the New York Knicks' future.

Via Stefan Bondy of NY Daily News:

“You want a real answer (about whether the Knicks will be much better)? Probably not,” Dinwiddie said. “They’ll probably have a high draft pick. Unless they do something via trade or via free agency, which I don’t know if this free agency class is that spectacular, they’re probably not going to be that good. We’ll see. I can’t tell the future. But more than likely, I mean Kevin Durant is coming back. And he’s Kevin Durant. He’s really good.”

The Knicks are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 17-38. Despite their record and recent struggles, they're only games seven games out of the eighth seed. Nonetheless, the Knicks have been a massive train-wreck in the past few years.

In the same interview, Dinwiddie expressed that the Nets are the better New York team and will probably be next year as well.

We’re a better basketball team than the Knicks. We were last year. Probably will be next year. It’s kind of what it is. So I know Knicks fans are going to get mad, but that is the truth.”

Dinwiddie is set to participate in the Skills Challenge that will take place on Saturday evening. For the season, the 26-year-old is averaging 21 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. The Nets will be seeking to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
