Stan Van Gundy responded to an intriguing question regarding his future in the NBA. The former head coach turned ESPN analyst was prompted with the possibility of becoming the next head coach of the New York Knicks, who could replace interim Mike Miller after this season.

Van Gundy responded directly, soon after throwing his brother Jeff in the mix due to his prior history with the franchise.

Via Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic:

“I'm not really interested in the New York Knicks, no,” said Van Gundy during an interview in ESPN Radio. “First of all there's a family history there. It anyone would be interest in that — and I'm not sure he is either — it would be my brother. And number two, I just — I've said this, I'm different than a lot of coaches in looking at jobs.

“To me it's all about who you work for and who you work with. Everything I've seen over the last few years with that omanization says that its extremely dysfunctional.”

SVG wasn't shy of rubbing some dirt on the Knicks, who have been indefensibly bad during the past two decades.

In the past year alone they've managed to miss out on top-of-the-line, star-caliber players, sign a roster of misfits, fire their head coach, and do the same with their president of basketball operations. Upon hiring a new president, the Knicks also created a scandal by not letting Spike Lee use the same entrance he'd used for 28 years — creating the type of bad PR they're famous for.

If that wasn't enough to keep SVG away from it, he is killing it as an NBA analyst, and it looks like he has found his true passion in calling these games.

Whenever the NBA season does resume, Stan Van Gundy's talents will be put to use in the booth rather than on the sidelines. Will Jeff Van Gundy actually be a legitimate candidate? Stay tuned.
