The New York Knicks suffered yet another embarrassing loss on Wednesday night, this time blowing a 28-point lead against a Brooklyn Nets team playing without any of its stars. The Knicks dropped to 25-34 with the loss, which is 3.5 games behind the 10th-seeded Atlanta Hawks for the final spot in the play-in tournament. As this team heads into the All-Star break, things are going off the rails and this could very well be a lost season after the surprise success of 2020-21.

After watching this latest debacle, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith took to the mic to deliver an absolutely epic rant. This is classic Stephen A. Smith:

Smith seems to be just about done with his favorite team, calling them “trash,” “horrible” and “a national disgrace.” In this rant, he specifically calls out Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau, star Julius Randle and president Leon Rose. SAS would have no issue with Thibs getting the boot immediately despite winning Coach of the Year last season, and he really wants to know what Rose is doing as his team slumps into the gutter.

There are rumors that Thibodeau could be in trouble. If this ship keeps sinking, don't be surprised to see him get fired. Whether that actually would change anything this season is anybody's guess. Randle has regressed after an All-NBA campaign, while key signings Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier haven't worked out as hoped. The long-term Derrick Rose injury has also zapped the Knicks of key offensive firepower.

We're a long way from the glorious “big bong” days of early in the season. Stephen A. Smith has seen enough.
