The New York Knicks are expected to conduct a thorough head-coaching search under new boss Leon Rose, who reportedly was impressed by the job that Mike Miller did before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March due to COVID-19.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, some prominent people at Madison Square Garden would like to see Miller have a role with the Knicks next season, regardless of who Rose hires as the head coach:

After firing David Fizdale, the Knicks went 17-27 under Miller. Rose and his team are expected to interview Miller, Jeff Van Gundy, Tom Thibodeau and Kenny Atkinson for the head-coaching position.

Before the NBA suspended the 2019-20 season in March, the Knicks had a record of just 21-45. They were in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings. New York will not be heading to Walt Disney World for the resumption of the 2019-20 campaign in sunny Orlando, Florida.

As we all know, the Knicks have been a walking disaster for years under owner James Dolan. New York fans are praying Rose can use his connections from CAA to fix the franchise quickly.

The 2012-13 season was the last time the Knicks had a winning record and made the playoffs. Carmelo Anthony was the star of the club and Mike Woodson was the head coach. Ironically, the Knicks are said to be interested in a reunion with Woodson.
