On Sunday, the New York Knicks fell at the hands of the struggling Washington Wizards by a final score of 108-95. However, the defeat may have not been the worst bit of news on the evening, as Knicks shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. appeared to have suffered an injury that may cause him some time on the sidelines.

Hardaway was the recipient of an inadvertent knee to the back from Wizards star John Wall during the first half of the game. The 26-year-old tried to play through it, but eventually had to head to the locker room to get some treatment.

After the game, Hardaway shed some light on his recent injury:

“I’m not feeling OK now,’’ Hardaway said, via Mac Berman of the New York Post. “We’ll see how I feel on a flight and have treatment [Monday] morning. I was playing with some discomfort. I’m a competitor. I can play through pain and not let my teammates down.”

The 6-foot-6 swingman is doing his best to play down the injury here. However, according to another report, Hardaway did also say that the issue may be nerve-related:

If it does turn out to be a nerve issue, then this may pose as a problem for Hardaway and the Knicks. These types of injuries are much more difficult to handle, which may lead to an extended absence for the sixth-year man.

With Kristaps Porzingis still months away from a comeback, the Knicks will be very low on firepower if Tim Hardaway Jr. is indeed going to miss time, so hopefully, this is nothing more than a minor setback for THJ, New York's leading scorer at 23.3 points per game.
