The New York Knicks already saw their best player, Kristaps Porzingis, forced to leave their game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday early as he suffered a knee injury — later revealed as a torn ACL. Later in the game, another key player of theirs had to exit the matchup as well, as Tim Hardaway Jr. hurt his lower left leg.

He immediately went through some tests to check if there’s any structural damage that he suffered. If there’s any good news for the Knicks at this point, results came back negative, according to the team’s PR account on Twitter, despite not being able to return to action on the night anymore.

With news that Porzingis has now been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, it will be crucial for Hardaway to return to action soon as he will be the focal point of their offense moving forward, along with Courtney Lee and even Michael Beasley.

Through 32 games he's appeared in, Hardaway is averaging a career-high 16.8 points, on 41.4 percent shooting from the field, to go along with 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.2 steals in 32.7 minutes per game.

More updates are expected to be made in light of Hardaway's injury, and the Knicks fans could only hope for now that he will not miss a significant amount of time. However, should Hardaway be forced to, it could mean another lost year for the team, who had high hopes entering the season that they can contend for a playoff spot and bring success once again to the storied franchise.
