The New York Knicks are making moves, and Austin Rivers is expected to be coveted on the trade market after the addition of Derrick Rose.

With Rose coming to New York and being reunited with head coach Tom Thibodeau, who coached Rose with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves, one of the Knicks' many guards is likely on the way out, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Elfird Payton is the current starter and rookie first-round pick Immanuel Quickley has been playing well as of late, so Rivers seems like the odd mad out. With contending teams looking to shore up their roster with veteran talent as the playoffs draw closer, Rivers will garner interest.

Rivers has played in 18 games for the Knicks this season, averaging 8.2 points with 2.2 assists. The 28-year-old spent the last couple of years with the Houston Rockets and signed a one-year deal in the offseason to join New York.

The Knicks are usually sellers during trade season, but Thibodeau has done wonders with a Knicks squad many expected would be at the bottom of the standings. New York is currently 11-14 and sitting in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Knicks being in the playoff race is something out of the ordinary, but Thibodeau has this young team playing hard. Julius Randle has led the way with 22.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists as they look to find their way in the playoffs for the first time in what seems like an eternity.
