As teams are filling out their training camp rosters for the 2017-18 NBA season, there is still no resolution to Carmelo Anthony's future with the New York Knicks. While Anthony continues to be linked with the Houston Rockets in hopes of joining Chris Paul and James Harden, it is unclear if the team's new front office is looking to move him.

With Anthony ‘at peace' with the situation, DeMarcus Cousins has been recruiting him to the New Orleans Pelicans on social media. Unfortunately, the 10-time All-Star has different plans according to Marc Berman of New York Post:

Nevertheless, an NBA source told The Post that Anthony has told the Knicks he would not agree to waive his no-trade clause for New Orleans.

In addition, the Knicks are hoping Anthony will expand his wish list beyond the Rockets:

According to the source, the Knicks are still hopeful Anthony eventually will expand his wish list beyond the Rockets — with the Trail Blazers, Cavaliers, Thunder and Pelicans holding interest.

At this point, the Knicks should be rebuilding around Kristaps Porzingis, but are looking to make the right trade. After trading numerous role players for Paul, the Rockets realistically can only offer Ryan Anderson and Trevor Ariza to the Knicks.

As for the other teams that are interested in Anthony, it is difficult to see the Pelicans even putting together an attractive package for him. While New Orleans has an attractive core in Cousins, Anthony Davis, and Jrue Holiday, they ultimately did not improve the overall talent of the roster.
