New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley recently made some pretty bold predictions about the future of the franchise.

Speaking to Bill Simmons for The Ringer, Oakley dropped a bomb by giving us some insider knowledge on Amazon CEO and president Jeff Bezos potentially taking over as Knicks owner:

There have been rumors about Knicks owner James Dolan selling the team, though Dolan has refuted them.

The 55-year-old went on to share his prediction on how the Knicks will fare in the offseason. Contrary to popular belief, Oakley does not appear to be on the Kevin Durant-Kyrie Irving boat. Instead, he believes that Charlotte Hornets superstar Kemba Walker and Philadelphia 76ers stud Jimmy Butler — both of whom will become unrestricted free agents in the summer — will end up becoming New York's dynamic duo next season.

While multiple reports have already emerged about both Walker and Butler re-signing with their respective teams in the offseason, there is obviously nothing set in stone yet. Oakley's predictions might very well come to fruition, and we might just see one of the deadliest combinations next season in Walker and Butler.

Even if the Knicks are not able to secure the first overall pick in the upcoming draft, there are still a good number of franchise-altering lottery picks who could potentially combine with Walker and Butler to form New York's new Big Three. We will just need to wait a few more months and see.

Oakley spent 10 seasons of his 19-year NBA career with the Knicks. In a decade with new York, the 6-foot-8 big man would get one All-Star nod and two All-Defensive team selections. He averaged 10.4 points (on 49.3 percent shooting), 10.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals.
