The New York Knicks have the ninth pick in the NBA Draft, and according to The New York Daily News, they have mutual interesting in drafting Trae Young. His dad talked to the Daily News about his interest last week:

“That's what Trae lives for. He lives for that type of stuff. Just think about it: He's probably the most talked about, most publicized kid in this draft and he's been through it all,” Young's father, Ray, told the Daily News. “Trae's been scrutinized to the point that he has thick skin. None of that stuff is going to bother him. He was like the darling of college basketball for three months, and then the last month-and-a-half he turned into a bad guy, for some reason.

“So for him to be in a market like New York and understand that it's all about winning — and if you don't win, there'll be some scrutiny — he's already been through it.”

During his time at Oklahoma, Trae got a lot of criticism towards the end of his freshman year because of the struggles the team was having.

At times it seemed like the spotlight was too much, and he at one point couldn't seem to hit any shots, but according to his dad, that is what is actually going to make him better for the Knicks.

There are still a few questions for the Knicks who have the 9th pick in the draft. Will Trae Young be there is the big question, but the other is will they take a point guard, even when they have a glaring need at small forward?

There is still some time before the draft happens, but for now, it seems like Young is still very well in play for the Knicks.
