The New York Knicks are expected to be one of the more active teams this summer as they look to strengthen their squad for the coming season. The Knicks are currently looking for an upgrade in their backcourt and it seems like they might be making a move for a couple of Los Angeles Lakers guards.
According to Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer, the Knicks have both Dennis Schroder and Talen Horton-Tucker on their radar as they look to hijack LeBron James' backcourt. Boston Celtics shooting guard is also reportedly a target for New York:
The Knicks are mentioned by league sources as a team that has expressed interest in Fournier, while New York has also been linked to Lakers guards Dennis Schroder and Talen Horton-Tucker.
Schroder, Horton-Tucker, and Fournier are all expected to enter free agency in the offseason, and the Knicks appear to be interested in signing at least one out of this trio of players.
These rumors could also provide a clue as to Derrick Rose's future with the Knicks. The former league MVP has already been linked to a sentimental return to the Chicago Bulls so at this point, New York could already be planning for the eventuality of Rose's departure.
As for their part, the Lakers have been quite busy in the market of late, with the Purple & Gold bringing Russell Westbrook to Hollywood in a blockbuster deal. The added star power to LA's backcourt could mean that there's no more room for the likes of Schroder and Horton-Tucker.
