The New York Knicks are reportedly not actively looking to trade second-year point guard Frank Ntilikina, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.

The Knicks drafted Frank Ntilikina with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft with the hopes of him becoming the franchise point guard. However, that hasn't been the case yet, as Ntilikina has really struggled in his first two years in the league and recently didn't play in three games.

My sense is that the Knicks, despite some recent Twitter chatter on this front, are not actively looking to find a new home for Ntilikina.

Is the 20-year-old Frenchman theoretically available? Will the Knicks field calls from interested teams on Ntilikina? Certainly.

But there is a difference between listening and shopping.

Ntilikina's shooting woes at the N.B.A. level can't be ignored. And teams certainly noticed earlier this month when he spent three successive games rooted to the Knicks' bench despite the absence of the injured Trey Burke, fueling the belief in a few rival front offices that Ntilikina is indeed destined to be dealt.

It's too soon, though, to write off Ntilikina as a Knick.

Ntilikina only averaged 5.9 points and 3.2 assists during his rookie season. After an offseason of getting stronger and used to NBA competition, the prevailing thought was that the 20-year-old point guard would take the next step during his sophomore campaign.

Unfortunately, Ntilikina is shooting worse this season than he did last year. In 25 games this campaign, Ntilikina is averaging 6.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 35.9 percent from the field, 29.5 percent from beyond the arc and 93.8 percent from the free-throw line.

As Stein notes, it looks like the Knicks aren't shopping Ntilikina, but they could be listening to potential offers.
