The New York Knicks are expected to make big moves in the offseason after a renaissance of sorts this season. Reportedly up on their list (or any team's list) is Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard. But if they can't get him, the Knicks are rumored to target another talented playmaker.

With Derrick Rose, Elfrid Payton, and Frank Ntilikina being free agents, the Knicks need to address their PG situation quickly. If Lillard isn't on the table, the Knicks might heavily pursue New Orleans Pelicans orchestrator Lonzo Ball. He is a restricted free agent and has been on the radar of the Knicks for months now.

According to Bleacher Report, the Pelicans are not too keen on giving Lonzo a lucrative deal, especially with the rise of burly superstar Zion Williamson.

Brandon Ingram is already locked in on a max deal, Zion Williamson is sure to command max money when it’s his turn, and securing Ball on a contract that pays him north of $20 million per season could foreclose on the Pelicans’ opportunity to land a starrier name to complement Zion.

The 23-year-old Lonzo had his best campaign this season, averaging career-highs of 14.6 points, 41.4 percent field goal shooting, and 37.8 three-point shooting. He also put up 4.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.5 steals, continuing to showcase his all-around arsenal.

Despite Rose's inspired stint, the PG spot was largely an eyesore for the Knicks this season and they badly need an upgrade.

While Lonzo Ball isn't exactly Damian Lillard, he could be the perfect fit in the Big Apple.
