The New York Knicks continue to stay busy in free agency after striking out on their top targets. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, 3-point specialist Wayne Ellington — who spent the second half of last season with the Detroit Pistons — has agreed on a two-year, $16 million deal with the Knicks:

Ellington, 31, was solid last season with the Pistons, as he averaged 12.0 points (on 42.1 percent shooting), 2.9 3-pointers, 2.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 steals in 27.3 minutes per contest. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard arrived in Detroit in the middle of last season after being traded for and eventually waived by the Phoenix Suns (he started the year with the Miami Heat).

It is also worth noting that the Knicks have also reportedly agreed with former Los Angeles Lakers swingman Reggie Bullock on a two-year, $21 million deal, so New York has added a couple of shooting wings in free agency.

Nevertheless, all these smaller transactions have very little significance for Knicks fans at the moment, who can't help but focus on the big picture. Their team horrendously struck out on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, who were both believed to be seriously considering signing with New York. However, the Brooklyn Nets somehow foiled their plans and ended up becoming the more relevant team in New York right now. It's a sad day to be a Knicks fan, though the franchise is trying to rebound with the additions of Ellington, Bullock, Julius Randle, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis.
