The New York Knicks took on the Dallas Mavericks in a heated competition on Friday night. New York was able to pull away for a much-needed win, finishing the game with a 117-109 victory. It lifted the Knicks to a 30-27 record, securing them in sixth place just 1.5 games ahead of the Miami Heat.

However, during the close matchup, fans couldn't help but take to Twitter to trash Richard Jefferson for his commentary during the game. Jefferson, a former NBA player, had a 17-year career in the league. He was at one point an athletic small forward known for his ridiculous dunking skills.

Now, Jefferson has found himself on the wrong side of Knicks fans, as they stormed to Twitter to display their displeasure of his commentary. Here are a few examples found, thanks to Fadeaway World.

Ahh, the wonderful world of Twitter at its finest. It's the perfect blend of celebrity endorsements, trash talk, roasting, and comedy. This time Richard Jefferson found himself at the expense of Knicks fans everywhere after it came off like he favored the Mavericks throughout the game.

Jefferson isn't the only former NBA player turned commentator to receive heat for their comments behind the mic. Chris Webber and Reggie Miller have both received criticism during their times in the broadcast booth. However, it's rare to see so many people express the same opinion, trashing Jefferson at will.

Richard Jefferson will likely recover from this, as this isn't the first time he's been under fire from fans. One thing is for sure though, he might not be too eager to commentate on the New York Knicks game in the future.
