New York Knicks guard Allonzo Trier is now one of the players, if not the only player, to dunk during an earthquake.

Trier slammed the ball during the fourth period of their Las Vegas Summer League game against the New Orleans Pelicans, and he did it while the venue was literally shaking.

Players and fans inside the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas felt the effects of a reported 6.9 magnitude earthquake in California. Following the tremors, the huge scoreboard and speakers inside the arena were seen shaking while some fans were making their way out of the arena.

Game officials initially decided to delay the game to check the condition of the arena and for the safety of all people inside the venue. Following a 15-minute delay, the league decided to cancel the match. The other games in the nearby Cox Pavilion were also halted as a precautionary measure.

The Knicks-Pelicans match was a highly anticipated game as it featured two of the top three picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. Zion Williamson only played in the first half and finished with 11 points and three rebounds before being ruled out for the second half for an apparent knee injury. RJ Barrett finished with 10 points for the Knickerbockers.
