It's safe to say New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox made a rookie mistake.

Early in the first quarter of their game against the San Antonio Spurs, Knox put two points on the board for the visiting team instead of snagging the defensive rebound.

In the clip posted by Dime, Kevin Knox and Dennis Smith Jr. both went up for the rebound. When this happens, it usually doesn't end well.

As shared by the commentator, LaMarcus Aldridge was credited for the basket. The play basically sums up the Knicks' season this year. They are currently one of the worst teams in the NBA today, and it seems that they will remain that way until the end of the season.

Are these part of the Knickerbocker' tanking antics? Who knows? The Spurs haven't been playing up to par this season. Maybe New York wasn't taking any chances. By hook or by crook, they need to rack up the losses to get some nice picks in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Apart from having a chance to built their roster via picks, the Knicks currently have enough cap room for two max players. So for New York fans, the long wait may soon be over.

This may be the last season that the Knicks will finish as one of the bottom feeders, and ff it all goes well in the summer, they may even be considered one of the top teams in the NBA.
