The fans inside Madison Square Garden were ecstatic to witness the New York Knicks' best player, Kristaps Porzingis, throw down a vicious poster dunk on Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, their cheers quickly turned to concerned looks as the Latvian international fell to the floor after his left knee buckled, and was visibly in a lot of pain.

It included the Knicks' management who were at courtside watching the game live. Team president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry even had to leave their seats abruptly after seeing Porzingis get hurt.

Heading into the season, there was a lot of optimism that the Knicks could make it back to the playoffs. However, their year has not gone according to plan as they are only in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with a 23-31 win-loss slate. If Porzingis will be forced to remain on the sidelines, it will definitely be a huge blow to them, and will not make it any easier for them to make it to the postseason.

A series of tests, including X-rays and an MRI, are expected to be done of Porzingis' knee to check on the extent of the injury and if there are any structural damages to it. The New York faithful, together with the Knicks' top brass,  can only keep their fingers crossed for now and hope that it's nothing serious, although it does not look good at this point as The Unicorn couldn't even leave the court without being helped out by his teammates.
