The New York Knicks lost a home game to the Detroit Pistons Saturday afternoon, 115-109, but the matchup wasn't short on breathtaking plays from both teams. Take this one from Knicks forward Michael Beasley.
With the Knicks trailing by seven points midway through the fourth and final quarter, the 6-foot-9 forward split the defense of Reggie Jackson and Anthony Tolliver on his way to the rack. He was met by the imposing presence of Andre Drummond, but the big man's defense couldn't do much about Beasley's attack.

Beasley had his way pretty much through the entire night, scoring a game-high 32 points while adding four rebounds and three assists to his name. However, the Knicks lacked the support crew to compliment Beasley's monster night as only Trey Burke (18 points and 15 assists) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (18 points) had productive nights on the offensive end.
The Pistons, on the other hand, had five players scoring in double-figures led by Drummond's 22 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, and three blocks.
For Beasley, this season serves as an audition piece for a much larger contract than his current $2 million deal. He'll be an unrestricted free agent in the summer and the former second overall pick is hoping that his season averages of 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists are enough to warrant a bigger payday.
It remains to be seen if Beasley can put up similar numbers in a winning situation and coupled with his questionable defense, his true value in free agency becomes that much tricky.
