Stop whatever it is that you are doing and watch this magical basket by David Copperfield New York Knicks forward Michael Beasley.

Just before the end of the first quarter of Tuesday night’s match against the San Antonio Spurs, Beasley held the collective breathes of those in attendance at the Madison Square Garden by knocking down a shot that looked like it defied at least a couple of established laws of Physics.

Can somebody come get Stephen Hawking to make a sense of that shot?

In a sense, that shot from Michael Beasley could stand as a metaphor for Beasley’s basketball career. The Knicks forward's career arc in the NBA has been as unpredictable as that shot. He can get hot one night and erupt for 32 points then play the next game and finish with a paltry total of six points.

Fortunately for Beasley, his shot went in after spending some time flirting with gravity.

Michael Beasley has been a pleasant surprise for the Knicks this season, as he is averaging 11.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He scored 18 against the Spurs, but his effort was not enough to help the Knicks, which took a 100-91 loss – the team’s fourth in six games.
