Despite the recent agreement by the New York Knicks and former president Phil Jackson to part ways, the organization will prioritize the acquisition of free agents above filling the top spot at the helm of the front office, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

The Knicks have plenty of moves to make, stuck in a back loaded $72 million contract for center Joakim Noah and a dire need at the point guard position with the imminent departure of one-year rental Derrick Rose.

The front office will have a hard time convincing the top unrestricted free agents, like Kyle Lowry, Jrue Holiday, George Hill, and Jeff Teague to make a move to the Big Apple after building a reputation of complete dysfunction and disarray. However, Teague has expressed interest in signing with New York.

Knicks ownership became disgruntled with Jackson after his recent willingness to put young forward Kristaps Porzingis on the trade block prior to the NBA Draft, as well as his unwillingness to engage in buyout talks with star forward Carmelo Anthony.

Following his departure, the Knicks stated they would rather trade Anthony than buy him out.
