He may be from Philadelphia but Lakers legend Kobe Bryant continues to give back to his adopted hometown of Los Angeles.

Partnering with Nike, Bryant has created the Mamba League, a basketball program for inner city youth ages 8-10 in Los Angeles.

“The Mamba League is a fun league,” Bryant says. “It's to learn the game, have fun and also to understand the connection the game has with life in general. And to convert that into being a better son, a better daughter, a better student.”

This initiative coming from the future Hall of Famer promises to be a breath of fresh air as its focus will be centered on the technical aspect of the game — an area that Bryant made full use of to his advantage.

Per Bleacher Report's Andrew Gould:

The Mamba League will instruct boys and girls aged 8-to-10 using a lower hoop, which the former Los Angeles Lakers star said will help them focus on technique and build confidence.

A great mission and idea by Bryant, who in retirement seems committed to be involved in the game of basketball.
