With the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors matching each other's 8-0 start to the playoffs, it appears that they are geared to compete once again in the NBA Finals for the third consecutive year.

Despite fans of the 28 other teams in the league not wanting to see them play for the championship anymore, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant recently said he doesn't mind watching them in the Finals again. He even questioned, via Jackie MacMullan of ESPN, why many are against it.

“Bryant says he will watch the NBA postseason when time allows. He can't understand why some believe a potential Warriors versus Cavaliers Finals matchup for the third time is a negative.”

“Why is that bad for basketball? That makes no sense,” Kobe says. “Just because it's preordained that's a bad thing?”

“I know I'm going to wake up in the morning. Is that a bad thing? I don't think it is.”

The Dubs and Cavs are both undefeated in this year's postseason and are looking unstoppable in their quest to compete for another championship. Led by LeBron James, the Ohio team has made easy work of the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors. They are currently awaiting the winner of the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards matchup, who they will face in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Warriors on the other hand are 8-0 because of the stellar play of their four All-Stars, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. They are leading all playoff teams in scoring and also in point differential. Without Steve Kerr on the sidelines, they have used his absence as extra motivation to play harder and win games by more points — so much so that they are considered by some to be “boring” in their victories.

Bryant may be calling it early, as there's still another round to play before the NBA Finals. But with the dominance both teams have shown so far, it could be another rematch to end their strong runs this season.
