Although Kobe Bryant played for only one team in his 20 year career, he knows a thing or two about free agency. The Lakers legend considered leaving Los Angeles for three teams in 2007 – the Bulls, Spurs, and Suns – and was linked to various other teams during his time as a free agent.

With Thunder superstar Kevin Durant now entering free agency, the Mamba commented on how he thinks KD should approach the situation. He told For The Win‘s Alysha Tsui:

“You’ve just got to look at it holistically. What does he want out of his career, what opportunities present themselves, even I – when I was a free agent – I did my due diligence, I looked at every opportunity and I left no stone unturned, so you have to vet those things.”

The fact that Kobe ended up staying with the Lakers doesn't necessarily mean he thinks Durant should stay in Oklahoma City, accord to the Mamba. Bryant added:

“I was just very fortunate things worked out for me in Los Angeles, but he certainly needs to look at every opportunity and make the right decision for himself – keeping in mind his fan base in Oklahoma, as well.”
