Los Angeles Lakers former superstar Kobe Bryant is still working and his first project is about to start . Before his retirement, he wrote a “Dear Basketball” poem for the Players' Tribune. Many fans loved the poem, so Kobe is now collaborating with Sports Illustrated to bring the poem to life in a video production.

The short film will be narrated by Kobe himself, entitled Dear Basketball for SI.com in the fall, and mini-documentaries will follow as part of the project.

According to SI, Kobe has been wanting to work on this for some time.
Dear Basketball is the perfect tribute to something I've loved for so long. Working with Sports Illustrated on this special project is an amazing opportunity to hopefully inspire fans all over the world.

President of Time Inc. Entertainment and Sports Group and Video, Rich Battista, is also excited to bring the project to life:

“We are proud to collaborate with Kobe to tell the comprehensive story of his first endeavor after retiring from the NBA in a way that only SI can,” said Battista. “We are excited for Kobe's fans and the global community of sport, entertainment and art enthusiasts to experience these productions.”

If you enjoyed the poem, keep your eyes open for Kobe's project and more in the future.
