Kobe Bryant really seems to be enjoying his life after basketball. Whether it's providing advice for young players, appearing in hilarious commercials, or catching up with other celebrities, the former Lakers star appears to be truly embracing the off-the-court spotlight for a change.

His latest newsworthy encounter came at the hands of legendary Game of Thrones creator, George R.R.Martin himself.

It's no secret that Bryant is a huge fan of the HBO adaption of Martin's famed novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Over the summer, Bryant told Sports Illustrated that he binge watched the entire six seasons in roughly a week. Let's also not forget how he took to Twitter last December to boast about his signed copy of the book series that he received from his wife, Vanessa, for his 37th birthday (or ‘nameday' as they like to call it in Westeros).

Kobe was clearly thrilled after getting a chance to learn “the art of story” from one of his favorite fantasy novelists. He also noted that he hopes to one day learn from another one of his “muses” — fantasy fiction writer and Harry Potter creator, J.K. Rowling.

Who knows, perhaps Kobe has a second career in fiction writing waiting in the wings. After all, there's nothing Kobe Bryant can't do.
