Many have considered Isaiah Thomas to be lucky for having the opportunity to learn from one of the best players ever, Kobe Bryant, earlier this month. The 5-foot-9 guard responded by playing two spectacular games, including a career night in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Washington Wizards, when he scored 53 points.

The two reportedly watched some tape together, and the Los Angeles Lakers legend gave him a lot of tips and shared what the Mamba Mentality is all about. However, Thomas may not be the only player Bryant could work with, as he recently shared, via Jackie Macmullan of ESPN, that he plans to do the same with other current players in the league. He then added that he considers himself an “open book.”

“Bryant confirms he’s had “many conversations” during the playoffs with Thomas, but says the Celtics star is just one of many current NBA stars who have reached out to Kobe for advice.”

“Bryant says he also talks regularly with Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving, MVP candidates James Harden and Russell Westbrook and Utah Jazz star Gordon Hayward, whom Kobe spent three days training with in Orange County last summer.”

“I’m around for all the guys. Anybody can reach out. It’s an open book.”

Despite being retired now, Bryant is not selfish in sharing his knowledge of the game and also made it clear that he will find time to teach the younger players how to be successful like him.

With the lessons that can be learned from him, it will not only improve the level of competition in the NBA, but could also help in bringing out the best from them. If there's anybody who they can learn from, especially with his stature and what he has brought to the league, Bryant is definitely the right person to reach out to.
