As the NBA bade farewell to a legend last week, Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa took to Instagram to give her own farewell message. In her post, Bryant spoke of the unseen sacrifices she and the couple’s daughters Natalia and Gianna made to support such an incredible career. Bryant's account is private, but Vibe.com was able to provide several quotes.
“Kobe has an incredible work ethic and amazing drive to be the best at whatever he sets his mind to and with that comes many sacrifices,” Vanessa wrote in her Instagram post.
Bryant was only 19 when she married Kobe, who was 23 and a newfound star in the NBA. In her post, she gave thanks to their shared faith for helping to keep their marriage together, and shared how much joy her husband brought into the world through his work with the Make-A-Wish foundation.

She shared that these experiences greatly influenced her worldview and the way she approached her marriage. But despite her clear and overwhelming pride for her husband’s accomplishments on and off the court, Bryant also said that she can’t wait to be in a place where she can spend more time with him.
“My girls and I are so happy to have Kobe home more often. We’ve all sacrificed so much time, birthdays, holidays, family functions and special events to be there for Kobe.”
Bryant’s final game resulted in a thrilling 101-96 victory for the Lakers, with the superstar dropping a staggering 60 points in his final on-court appearance. The night was historic and one that will go down in the NBA history books forever.
