The final piece of the Astralis roster for the upcoming LEC Summer 2022 Split is finally here with the addition of Lee “JeongHoon” Jeong-hoon as the team’s support player.

Astralis published a blog post welcoming JeongHoon into the organization and the LEC as a whole. JeongHoon joins the roster after his time playing for Fredit BRION Challengers in the League of Legends Korea Challenger League (LCK CL).

Head coach Baltat “AoD” Alin-Ciprian described the Korean player as “someone always looking for the high-risk, high-reward play. He is a raw talent that is ready to shine on the big stage. He is extremely motivated and a hard worker that wants to succeed. It is already clear that he is super happy to be here and can’t wait to start working on our preparations for the Summer split.”

Coming from LCK CL into an LEC team will certainly bring about some communication issues. AoD said that their current focus is “to integrate him into our team. His English language is currently at a beginner level, but Lee is a quick learner, and with our team already settled, we can already start to prepare and be ready when the Summer split arrives.”

He also addressed why the organization opted to bring an import in despite having a plethora of choices in the ERLs. “We did our due diligence and compared him to our other available options in Europe,” he said. “Here, we saw an insanely skilled player that matches what we are looking for; a proactive play-making support player that can take over games through his decisive gameplay.”

AoD is confident that the new support will synergize well with their bot laner Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup.

In the previous LEC splits, Astralis had disappointing results. Since the org’s joining in 2021, they have never finished above 8th place. In fact, in the most recent LEC Spring Split, Astralis placed dead last with a 3-15 win-loss record.

Astralis will field the following players come LEC Summer 2022 Split:
