Kosovo may not be a household name on the international football stage, but wow, did they just score one hell of a goal against the Spaniards.

Athletic Bilbao keeper Unai Simon made the premature decision to come out of the box and contest a challenge, proceeding to attempt at dribbling towards the halfway mark of the pitch.

Well, that quickly turned out to be a huge mistake for the Spain keeper, with Kosovo midfielder Besar Halimi quickly intercepting and proceeding to launch a ridiculous long-range shot from literally 40 yards out into a wide-open net:

Unfortunately, it only brought Kosovo within a goal and the Spaniards ended up finding the back of the net just minutes later when Villarreal frontman Gerard Moreno fired home the third goal of the night.

After three matches of World Cup qualifying, Kosovo sits at rock bottom of Group B, while Spain is in top spot.

As for Besar Halimi, he's not the most well-known footballer in Europe. He currently plays for second-tier German outfit SV Sandhausen, where the Kosovo international has scored just once in 12 appearances this term.

Nevertheless, it's a goal that is sure to be played over and over again for many years to come. Pure class from Halimi.
