New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis started 2016-2017 on fire, producing huge numbers night in and night out. However, his scoring has dropped recently, only averaging 11.5 points in the team's last two games.

Many wondered what the cause might be and assumed he is suffering from an injury. Recently, the 7-foot-3 Latvian international shed light to it and admitted he is suffering from a “pinch” in his right knee.

“I’m good. I’m good. I’m good. It’s a little pinch that I’m getting when I’m not warmed up yet. Once I’m warmed up, I’m good to go. Don’t worry about it, guys.”

He also talked about the slump he's currently in and what he will try to do to get out of it the soonest.

“To get out of this, what I’ve been doing my whole career is with work. You get out of this working, shooting and just staying confident. That’s what I’m trying to do.”

“Teammates are telling me to shoot when I’m open. I have to keep doing it. The shots are going to start to fall. I need to maybe relax a little bit, have some fun and the shots will start falling.”

Even with some discomfort in his knee, the New York faithful can still take away something good out of this as their promising big man is not suffering from any serious injury.

After their slow start to the season, the Knicks have found their groove lately and won 10 of their last 13 games. A lot of credit still need to be given to Porzingis for his contributions.

His averages of 19.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game has been very important to the Knicks' cause as they try to make it back to the playoffs for the first time in four years.
