Kristaps Porzingis is proud of his home country and the city he plays for in the NBA.

The Knicks’ rising star will be sporting new kicks next season, which pays homage to Latvia and New York. The shoes are in the black with purple and orange accents colorway, and will have the Statue of Liberty on the right, and the Freedom Monument Statue on the left.

Porzingis is one of the biggest athletes sponsored by Adidas, who he signed an endorsement deal with last year. He has since been seen wearing the Crazy Explosives in different PE’s, and the latest one will be part of its new series.

Since entering the NBA, the 7-foot-3 big man has taken the league by storm and has become a fan favorite in The Big Apple. His rare combination of size and effective shooting touch stretching as far as beyond the arc has made him a nightmare matchup for opposing coaches. Porzingis also has the knack for blocking shots and fighting for rebounds, which has made him an even more dangerous player on the court.

Despite all the rumors that emerged about earlier unhappiness with the team, Porzingis has continued to say that he wants to continue playing for the Knicks and winning with them. If the latest design of his sneakers is any indication of his plans in the future, it can be expected that he will continue to compete hard for his team, and proudly represent his fans whether in New York or in Latvia.
