After Kristaps Porzingis posted a cryptic tweet last week saying nothing but ‘L.A. Clippers,' many speculated that he already decided where he wants to play next. However, his brother, Janis, has recently denied this claim, saying instead the real team the New York Knicks big man wants to play for next season.

Although his team's future is uncertain, especially with the moves they are expected to make this summer, his older brother made it known that Kristaps plans to remain with the Knicks, via Ian Begley of ESPN.

“Kristaps Porzingis’ brother Janis Porzingis said the Knicks forward wishes to remain in New York but also wants the club to create an environment conducive to player development and winning. His brother made it clear that if traded, Porzingis intends to play out his contract and test free agency.

“Kris wants to stay in New York; he feels at home there. There is no question about it. The only thing he wants is for the Knicks to create an environment where he can develop and grow as a player and win. If he were traded, he would play out his contract and head into free agency, where he can choose his own destiny.”

With Carmelo Anthony rumored to potentially be on the move this summer, the team's fans will have less to worry about knowing the 7-foot-3 Latvian international is showing loyalty to the team that drafted him, and could become their next franchise player.

It still remains to be seen what the Knicks front office has in mind. Should Kristaps Porzingis continue to don the team's colors, he will need more talent around him to get back to the playoffs. But if they ultimately decide to start over and rebuild, then the 21-year-old may be dealt in exchange for other young, promising players who can be part of the team's future plans.
