If Latvia's national basketball team makes the Olympic Games in Rio, it will be without New York Knicks rookie, Kristaps Porzingis.

The Knicks organization will be relieve to hear the news because they don't have to worry about risk of injury, and happy because he can focus on improvement and helping the franchise move forward. That should also give the same amounts of relief and calmness to Knicks fans, and give them something to look forward to next year.

During the tournaments, there will be 18 teams, split into 3 tournaments, with Latvia heading to Belgrade. The winner of each tournament will have earned a trip to Rio for the 2016 Olympics.
