Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry is not shying away from the responsibility of Saturday's 97-83 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the first-round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The All-Star floor general had a feeble four points in a 2-of-11 outing from the field, as the Raptors shot a ghastly 36 percent from the floor and 21.3 percent from the three-point line.

“I have to play better,” Lowry told TSN's Josh Lewenberg. “No ifs, ands, or buts about it — I've got to play better. It's my fifth game back, I don't give a damn. I'm going to play better.”

Lowry had been solid since his return from a wrist injury, logging high minutes from the get go after a five-week absence. His contributions would play a huge part in Toronto's road through the playoffs with averages of 22.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game.

“It's like deja vu all over again,” Lowry told Michael Grange of Rogers SportsNet.

The 6-foot guard is alluding to his usual slow starts in the postseason, as he shot a mere 30.6 percent from the floor and 16 percent from beyond the arc through his first eight playoff games of 2016.

Through his four years with the team, Lowry has shot a combined 33 percent in playoff openers, placing the scoring load on backcourt mate DeMar DeRozan and the rest of the team.

“I never put it on anyone else but me,” Lowry added, per Lewenberg. “I have to play better. A lot of the things I did out there tonight didn't help my team win.”

The Raptors will need more than a good night from their star point guard to take down the Bucks, as Milwaukee was especially sharp with the basketball, turning it over only five times throughout the game, while shooting a respectable 44 percent from the floor.
