Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley has been fined $25,000 for throwing the game ball into the stands on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.

The Clippers defeated the Lakers by a final score of 112-102, taking round one of the battle of Los Angeles.

Beverley, the heart and soul of the Clippers, was a pest all night on defense. The Chicago native played 31 minutes, finishing with only two points. However, his impact can't be measured in numbers. The energy Beverley played with was amazing and he was a +13 on the floor.

Last season for the Clippers, Beverley averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He shot 40.7 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.

As we all know, Beverley is one of the best perimeter defenders in all of basketball and plays with tremendous passion and grit.

The Clippers will look to start the season at 2-0 on Thursday when they take on the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. Expect Beverley to annoy Warriors stars Stephen Curry and D'Angelo Russell.

Beverley, 31, has career averages of 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
