The Los Angeles Lakers just won an NBA championship with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and a bunch of role players. There will be some shuffling of the roster as the Lakers move forward, and they'll look to bolster the support group for their two stars.

The Lakers will likely look at acquiring a third star, such as Chris Paul or Bradley Beal, but they will also search for cheaper alternatives to round out the roster. There will be veteran free agents out there looking to latch on to the club in order for a chance to win a championship.

Let's take a look at three players the Lakers should chase on the cheap.

3. Kyle Korver

Kyle Korver is on a speed date with Father Time at the age of 39, but that hasn't stopped him from answering whenever his number is called on. Korver is known strictly for his 3-point shooting, which fits a need for the Lakers going into next season.

The Creighton University product is coming off his 17th season in the league, which suggests that his playing time with the Lakers shouldn't be major — that and his efforts on defense have never specifically been admirable.

Still, Korver knocked down 41.8 percent of his 3-pointers with the Milwaukee Bucks this season, which makes him a strong target for Los Angeles. Furthermore, Korver has experience playing with LeBron James.

2. Wesley Matthews

Wesley Matthews isn't guaranteed to hit free agency this offseason. Matthews has a $2.6 million player option, but he may look to decline that and secure a slightly more lucrative contract after a stellar season in Milwaukee.

While Matthews may look for more money, he still shouldn't cost too much, making him a strong target for the Lakers. The Bucks are certainly hoping to keep Matthews around after he started 67 out of 67 games in the regular season and then all 10 playoff games. However, the Lakers may look to move quickly on Matthews, who's still capable of knocking down 3-pointers at a respectable clip while playing exceptional defense.

As a standard 3-and-D player who just turned 34 years old, Matthews shouldn't break the bank, giving the Lakers a prime opportunity to steal him away from another contender.

1. Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony spent an unfortunate part of his career practically begging for teams to take him on after a short stint with the Houston Rockets. Melo ultimately latched on with the Portland Trail Blazers and showed he still has something left in the tank, so he should get another opportunity in the NBA next season and perhaps beyond.

Anthony finished the 2019-20 season averaging 15.4 points along with 6.3 rebounds with Portland. Melo has expressed a desire to return to the Blazers, but one has to imagine he'd love a chance to team up with LeBron in Los Angeles.

The Lakers opted to not bring Anthony aboard in prior seasons, though it was rumored that LeBron pushed for his longtime banana boat friend to be beside him. Hopefully, the Lakers will make the right choice this time around should the numbers and opportunity to play for a championship sway Anthony.
