LeBron James, Lakers make huge $100 million announcement ahead of new season

Lakers, LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers have spent and will continue to spend a whole lot of money to fund their sensational summer overhaul. It only makes sense that they make some of that dough back, and apparently, this will come in the form of a huge $100 million deal with new shirt sponsor, Bibigo.

The Lakers made the announcement on their Twitter account, wherein they revealed their new partnership with the South Korean-based cuisine company. Naturally, it was team superstar LeBron James who first dawned the latest variant of the iconic Purple & Gold jersey:

LA also released an official statement via NBA.com wherein they provided this company profile of Bibigo:

Bibigo is a global company created by CJ, Korea’s #1 lifestyle company. The brand takes 5,000 years of delicious cuisine and revamps the recipes to fit today’s modern, non-stop lifestyles.

Their name, Bibigo, combines the Korean word “bibim,” from a long cultural tradition of “mixed” flavors, with the English word “go.” Brand offerings include a full assortment of snacks and appetizers, including Mandu, the brand’s signature dish.

Bibigo will replace the Lakers’ sponsor from last season, Wish. According to the Los Angeles Times’ Bill Shaikin, this new deal will net the team over $100 million over the span of five years.
