Joining the No. 1 pick sweepstakes are the Los Angeles Lakers, who are now looking to trade up for the Boston Celtics‘ No. 1 pick , according to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.

The Lakers could likely dangle forward Julius Randle along with the No. 2 pick in return for the first-overall selection, per Givony.

President Magic Johnson is reportedly “in love” with University of Washington freshman Markelle Fultz, who “murdered” his workout with the team yesterday and could be “the best one” they've seen thus far this offseason.

Fultz played very competitively in a two-on-two scenario, despite it being outside the terms of his workout.

The recently-turned 19-year-old freshman shot the ball very well and logged a 40-inch vertical leap — showing a mix of athleticism and shooting ability in front of executives and team scouts.

This comes at the heels of the Philadelphia 76ers going in deep talks with the Celtics for that same No. 1 pick, willing to offer a combination of their third overall selection and a future first-round pick in exchange.

Johnson will likely have to sweeten the pot and make a very enticing offer in order to get president Danny Ainge‘s attention, as Fultz could be in the cards for an interview in Philadelphia as soon as tomorrow, per sources.
