Frank Vogel's job status with the Los Angeles Lakers has been the talk of the town in recent days, and for good reason. The Purple and Gold have struggled this 2021-22, with the threat of missing the playoffs a legitimate threat amid their failure to string wins together.

There have been varying reports about Vogel's status, with a rumor claiming he's in real danger of getting fired. The Lakers' recent win against the Utah Jazz may have quelled some talks about a possible firing, though, as a more recent report stated that there are no “current” plans to replace him–which hints that he might still be removed if things don't improve for the Lakers.

However, prior to Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers, Vogel addressed all the talks about his job and noted that he has a “healthy” relationship with the LA top brass. Per Kyle Goon of OC Register, the veteran tactician also said he is simply “blocking out” all the noise regarding his situation as he focuses on turning things around for the team.

Prior to their win over the Jazz, the Lakers actually lost three straight games–including a 37-point blowout at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. With that said, it is not surprising why a lot of people are expecting Frank Vogel to get fired.

By the looks of it, the Lakers are still putting their faith on the coach that brought them their first championship in years back in 2020 … at least for now.

A lot of things can change before or after the February trade deadline, and the LA franchise is certainly one to keep an eye on as they navigate what has been a really rough season.
