Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso appears to be enjoying the offseason. A little bit too much, that is.

Multiple reports have confirmed that the 27-year-old has been arrested in Texas for possession of Marijuana. Caruso was reportedly arrested by Texas A&M University Police in Brazos County on Tuesday. Complex reports that Caruso has been charged for possession of under two ounces of Marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. He has been released after paying two separate fines amounting to $3,500.

Several outlets on Twitter have also confirmed the news about the Lakers guard, including a link to Brazos County jail records:

Caruso hails from College Station, Texas and his alma mater is Texas A&M. The Lakers guard appears to have literally taken a trip down memory lane in his old campus. All jokes aside, though, this is a serious matter that won't be taken lightly by the NBA as well as the Lakers organization.

Caruso's current deal comes to an end at the conclusion of this season. He is set to enter free agency and it remains to be seen if the Lakers intend to offer him an extension. The 6-foot-4 guard has a bit of a cult following among Lakers fans, but it is unclear if this will have an impact on his contract negotiations.

This recent arrest also doesn't bode well for his contract extension. It isn't exactly a grave crime, but the fact that he now has an arrest record is something that's going to stick for Caruso.
