Alex Caruso has been making waves for his new team, the Chicago Bulls, early in the season. So much so, that fans of the Los Angeles Lakers already seem to be regretting the team's decision to let him walk away as a free agent back in the summer.

Caruso recently sat down with The Athletic’s Bill Oram as he provided a lot of insight about his former team and how his move away from the Lakers really went down. During the interview, the 27-year-old also revealed details about LeBron James and Anthony Davis' injury-riddled 2020-21 season.

“We couldn’t get healthy and part of that was the quick turnaround (from the bubble), too,” Caruso said. “Like, I don’t think AD ever really got back to full strength after the Finals run. I don’t even know if Bron did. He did a better job of hiding it.”

The Lakers had a quick turnaround from their historic NBA bubble title run in 2020 before the new campaign started. As Caruso said in his revelation above, both of LA's superstars were not afforded enough time to properly recover from what was a grueling championship run.

This clearly worked against the Lakers last season as they struggled with injuries throughout the campaign. Their injury woes were further magnified during their first-round exit against eventual Western Conference champions, the Phoenix Suns.

Caruso's point about LeBron hiding his injuries well is also worth noting. James has been heavily criticized for what many perceive to be load management tactics throughout the season. However, as the Bulls guard points out here, LeBron still puts in an effort into playing through injuries — and even concealing them — despite the fact that he's already nearly two decades into his career in the NBA.

Injuries have been a thorn on the side of the Lakers yet again this season. LeBron himself has been out of commission of late due to an abdominal issue, but nonetheless, it looks like he's going to be returning to action much sooner than initially expected. It is clear at this point that the Lakers need their talisman back as soon as possible.
