Just like every NBA player, Los Angeles Lakers combo guard Alex Caruso misses playing the game he loves while the league is suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an interview with Tyler Shaw of KBTX, the Lakers fan favorite says he has been instructed to stay away from gyms:

“Not a gym. We have to be on quarantine,” Alex Caruso said. “That was the recommendation, the 14 day quarantine after they figured out somebody on the team had it. I'm doing all homework nowadays. I'm looking forward to, eagerly, getting back on the basketball court.”

Two players on the Lakers have tested positive for COVID-19. Both players are currently asymptomatic, in quarantine and under the care of the team’s physician.

NBA owners want to resume the season in the summer, but with the way this virus is spreading, odds keep dropping by the day.

Caruso and the Lakers had the best record in the Western Conference before play was suspended. Caruso is averaging 5.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 58 games while shooting 42.3 percent from the field, 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 76.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers had a record of 49-14 prior to Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert's positive COVID-19 test. They were title contenders and L.A. fans are hoping the season resumes so the Purple and Gold have a chance to capture banner No. 17.
