Andre Drummond made the sports headlines on Sunday after joining the Los Angeles Lakers. Fans and analysts believe that Drummond can definitely help the Purple and Gold in their title defense.

Orlando Magic head coach Steve Clifford is also in agreement, noting that the big man's presence alone can generate wins.

Per Kyle Goon of Orange County Register, Clifford shared his thoughts on the Drummond-Lakers union. In particular, Clifford shared how the two-time All-Star could help LeBron James and Co. in the playoffs.

Andre Drummond is expected to beef up the Lakers' frontcourt. After all, Drummond has led the league in rebounds a total of four times. Apart from crashing the boards, he is also expected to fortify the Lakers' defense. For his career, he's averaging 1.5 blocks per game. This isn't exactly impressive, but as Clifford noted, Drummond's defensive abilities hinge on his size and physicality.

Rumors regarding Drummond and the Lakers started when the Cleveland Cavaliers made it clear that they are looking to make Jarrett Allen as their main big man. The Cavs looked for trade partners, but nothing came into fruition and the deadline passed. As such, the Cavs and Drummond had no choice but to agree to a buyout.

Given Drummond's stature as one of the best rebounders in the game, he gained immediate interest from various teams such as the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks. However, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka was able to do his magic and lure in the big man. Now, Drummond is teammates with good friend Anthony Davis.
