Los Angeles Lakers rookie Andre Ingram is bound to see a decent paycheck for his efforts, as he'll earn over half of his $26,000 G League salary for his last two games with the team.

Ingram will earn $13,824 for games against the Houston Rockets and L.A. Clippers to finish out the season, according to ESPN's Larry Coon — and one can argue he's already played his money's worth after a 19-point performance in his rookie debut.

G League players are paid close to the national annual salary for their services, making it a survivable profession with a chance to turn it into a honeypot if called up to the NBA as a two-way player — getting compensated with NBA royalties during each of the 45 days a player is allowed to be with the NBA team.

The 32-year-old Ingram holds the all-time G League record for most 3-pointers made, and he showed just why, drilling his first four shots on Tuesday night against the Rockets, including three from deep, shooting 6-of-8 from the field, 4-of-5 from deep, and a perfect 3-of-3 from the stripe.

The Staples Center erupted with each shot made, even getting the “MVP” chant treatment, despite sharing the court with MVP frontrunner James Harden.

“It was once in a lifetime,” Ingram told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. “Everyone was like, ‘Man, when you get it, just let it go. Everyone was like that. All the players, all the coaches.”

“From the team warm-ups, the atmosphere was electric. You could feel something in there. MVP chants [while at the free throw line], that's just crazy. Like I said [to myself], ‘Make the free throw, make the free throw, make the free throw.'”

Ingram finished with 19 points on the day and is currently the Lakers' highest-scoring rookie after a sizzling performance off the bench.
