Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis insists his right shoulder is feeling good.

During LA's win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Davis was clutching at his shoulder throughout the game and even went back to the locker room.

The pain didn't stop Davis from putting up 40 points and 20 rebounds in 31 minutes. All signs point toward AD playing on Friday when the Lakers take on the Dallas Mavericks:

The Lakers are 3-1 on the season. LeBron James and Davis already seem to have good chemistry. That spells trouble for the rest of the NBA.

Davis is averaging 28.8 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists on the season. The six-time All-Star is shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from beyond the arc and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.

AD's long-term health is important to the Lakers. The franchise wants to make sure Davis is as close to 100 percent once the playoffs start, which means he could sit out a few games here and there during the regular season if he's nicked up.

Davis becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer once he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Lakers. The prevailing thought is the Chicago native will re-sign with Los Angeles.

With LeBron and AD leading the charge, the Lakers have a good chance of winning the championship this season.
