Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis says guards Rajon Rondo and Quinn Cook push him every day.

Davis has played with Rondo and Cook on the New Orleans Pelicans before, so he has a close relationship with both of them.

The Lakers re-signed Rondo this offseason and signed Cook in free agency.

“Those guys push me every day,” Davis told Spectrum Sports Net. “Quinn tells me all the time like you're the best player in the league and this was when we were even in New Orleans. He's like you gotta go and prove it every night. You have to prove it in practice. You have to prove it off the floor with your teammates.

“Rondo, we had a meeting at 11:00 and I walked in at 10:59, but I was already ready, I was just waiting for everybody to get in there. Rondo said, ‘You late.' So, he always held me accountable. That's another guy I can respect as well.”

Both Rajon Rondo and Quinn Cook have championship pedigree. The Lakers have good guard depth on the roster, with each player being a solid defender.

Last season for the Lakers, Rondo averaged 9.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists in 46 games. Cook, meanwhile, put up 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 74 games for the Golden State Warriors.

Rondo and Quinn have a good rapport on and off the floor with Anthony Davis, who averaged 25.9 points and 12.0 rebounds with the Pelicans last season. That bodes well for the Lakers.
