The Los Angeles Lakers notched another easy win on Wednesday, making quick work of the Oklahoma City Thunder, 128-99. Lakers superstar Anthony Davis had another light stint, logging just 25 minutes in the win, which according to the All-Star big man, is something that will prove to be beneficial for himself and the defending champions in the long run.
After the victory, Davis raved about his decreased workload over the past couple of games.
Anthony Davis said it’s a definite difference for him to be able to play 30 minutes or fewer in blowouts instead of his typical 35. He and LeBron both had the majority of the 4th Q’s off throughout the 3 game trip, and he said those are banked minutes for later in the season.

Despite his limited playing time, Davis still finished with 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting and seven rebounds.
LeBron James, meanwhile, also had an easygoing evening, playing just 27 minutes in the win. The four-time MVP still racked up a game-high 26 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the floor, including five three-pointers. He also spiked his totals with six boards and seven dimes.
Davis and LeBron are two of the top players in the NBA right now, and as the reigning kings, the Lakers will always have a target on their back whenever they take the floor. This is exactly why blowouts are always a welcome development for the Purple and Gold, affording their two stars some much-needed rest in what has been a grueling title defense.
Wednesday's victory marks the Lakers' seventh win in eight games, including three straight Ws in their recently concluded road trip. They now improve to 10-3 and sit atop what has become a very tight race in the West.
Anthony Davis and the Lakers get Thursday off before they face off against Davis' former squad, the New Orleans Pelicans, on Friday at Staples Center.
