It's been an embarrassing season for the Los Angeles Lakers as they're starting to lose their chance of playing in the playoffs this year. They've been hit by the injury bug and the superstars just haven't met expectations either. Anthony Davis weighs in on what could have been for this organization.

According to Melissa Rohlin, Anthony Davis believes the Lakers are a championship contender if the team avoids injuries. Maybe that's true, but Los Angeles hasn't looked great all year. It seems as though it wasn't in the cards this year for this team, as injuries and other problems have kept LA at bay.

Los Angeles is currently in the 11th seed of the Western Conference which means they could participate in the play-in game. However, their chances are looking bleak with limited games left on the schedule. The Lakers might miss out on the postseason entirely, which is embarrassing how loaded the roster is right now.

Even so, Anthony Davis might be right. He, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook only played together for 21 games this season. That's not enough for the Lakers to get the best out of their roster, which could be a reason why this franchise has struggled this season.

The Lakers only have four games left on the schedule. It's do-or-die time as LA hopes to remain within reach of the postseason. If they can find a way to break their current six-game losing skid, then Los Angeles could give themselves a fighting chance in the play-in game. If not, then the season will end, leaving the organization with plenty of questions to be answered.
