Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis says he has no regrets with how he handled his trade request from the New Orleans Pelicans.

Davis also says if he had the chance to do it all over again, he'd approach his trade request the exact same way he did it.

“No. I wish I did it the way I did it,” Davis told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “I'm a person who's very upfront and honest. You know, I want to tell you what it is. I love the city of New Orleans, but from a professional standpoint and occupation in basketball, I felt like it was time for me to move on.”

Anthony Davis requested a trade from the Pelicans this past season. After his trade request went public, Davis' reputation in New Orleans took a big hit. The Pelicans decided not to trade Davis at the 2019 February trade deadline, making the second half of the season very awkward.

Davis was booed at home games and load managed. It was an ugly end to what was a great relationship for the first six years.

However, the six-time All-Star is ready for the next chapter of his career with the Lakers. Davis, who has only won one playoff series in his career, is looking forward to competing for a championship on the Lakers.
